Measurements marks—in both liters and gallons—are integrated into the pan, ensuring accuracy when adding ingredients across multiple batches. The 5⁄8-inch-thick cooking surface resists warping at high temperatures, and it is bead blasted to create a nonstick finish, streamlining the cleaning process.

Because the Cleveland SEL40T1 tilt skillet has a large capacity, it has a tilt mechanism so users can comfortably empty cooked food. To angle the pan up and down, this unit uses a manual hand crank, and this manual mechanism is more reliable and economical than power switches but less precise and convenient for users. Protecting employees, the heating elements shut off when the unit is tilted, and at less than 10 degrees, the elements stay on, so users can cook at an angle to encourage grease runoff. This unit’s large cover is spring assisted for efficient movement. A handle covers the full width, while a vent is built in to release steam when needed.
